Modern Cotswold barn conversion, near Cirencester
The pig barn was built soon after the end of WW2 and it's structure has similarities with the RAF hangars to the north, no doubt built by the same men.
The barns modular structure provides a strong basis from which we have based our designs and this can be seen in the exterior elevations. Internally there was insufficient light for a house and we cut into the building to form new openings to the south to connect with the views over the Cotswold hills and bring light deep into the open plan living areas.
Knowledge and expertise of how to work with a thin section steel frame building was crucial to the sucess at planning.
