Renovation of a traditional Cotswold farmhouse, near Cirencester
Prior to the client purchasing the property we advised on the potential alterations / conversions that were feasible and items for the legal team to consider during the purchase negotiations.
Following a pre planning application process we submitted a full and listed building application which was approved by Cotswold district council. The works included major alterations internally to the farmhouse and externally extensions to the house and new landscaping.
We demonstrated to English Heritage that the existing staircase was not original and they agreed to a new timber staircase replacement. This was crucial to achieve one of the main visions of bringing light deep in to the central core of the house.
Tender documents were prepared in collaboration with the client’s interior / lighting designers and structural engineers. We managed the tender process for the refurbishment and extension work.
Construction works started in September 2015 – we are acting as Contract Administrators / Architects.
